This was such a long week, but is finally the weekend! I am so excited to FINALLY be writing a blog post about my wedding day hair. I knew I wanted a loose, up/ down and romantic hair look for my wedding day, and Grace Jansen Beauty really brought my vision to life! I ordered a gorgeous hair vine from Ulyana Aster to complete the wedding day hair of my dreams.
I was able to squeeze in my hair and makeup trial with the lovely Grace two weeks before my wedding… it was pushing it close, but we got it done!
Brides, be prepared with a couple inspo photos for your hair and makeup! It makes your wedding day hair and makeup stylist have an easier time of achieving the look you want. At the end of the trial, this is the look that Grace came up with:

My hair vine from Ulyana Aster had not arrived yet, so we could not include it during the trial… so now, I am going to share what I learned during the process of preparing for my wedding day look:
1. Do not wait until last minute and order your hair accessories last minute (like I did)! I wish I had the hair vine at my bridal hair trial so Grace knew what to expect the day of the wedding. I would bring everything you plan on using in your wedding day hair to your hair trial.
2. During your hair and makeup trial, SPEAK UP! If you do not like something or want to change it, be honest with your hair and makeup artist. They will appreciate it!
3. Since being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, I lost a fair amount of hair after starting treatment. I had some new growth by the month of my wedding, but I was self-conscious about my hair looking thin. I did not have hair extensions at my hair and makeup trial, but I last minute ordered some hair extensions from Amazon (head slam) out of complete panic. Grace did an amazing job at blending the hair extensions with my hair, but I really wish I ordered them from a professional and not from Amazon. The hair extensions did not hold the curls well at all as the wedding went on… BUT I still loved the way my hair turned out!
4. If you plan on using extensions for length or volume, order from a professional and bring them to your wedding day hair trial if they are clip on! This is my number one regret about my wedding day hair.
Grace used curls border my face to really enhance the romantic look! Overall, I was happy with the way my wedding day hair came together. I can’t go back and change not using hair extensions from Amazon, and it wasn’t the end of the world… and I am sure no one else noticed!
What advice would you give a future bride about her wedding day hair? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time,
Emily Elizabeth
